We are in the digital world, in the world of virtual reality, in the world of the cloud ... or that is what we communicate daily from the press, television, work and of course, also from schools.

Our children are changing their resources in the classroom and this involves changes in habits, customs, norms and precautions that we must take into account.

For this reason from the European School of Madrid, a center in which we have been promoting digital competence for several years through our institution EuropeanValleyWe have thought it very convenient to launch a campaign within our center to show and inform our students and parents of the so-called «Health-Digital».

Thanks to the help and guidance in this subject of Guillermo CánovasDirector of EducaLike , we have prepared some modules in the school to teach them in the classes in a graduated way throughout the school year 2017-2018. With the good work of my partner Esmeralda Velasco, guidance and teacher of the center and myself, these modules are customized for each school year, where we deal with the most important topics according to the student's age in a practical and dynamic way.

Topics that range from Postural health of the student with the devices to security and risk situations in Social Networks, Through the Access to Information on the Internet, Privacy, our data in the networks ó the abuse and addiction of devices.

This is a job that we started in school and that should continue in the homes, so we believe it is very important to also train our parents, so that they face in a safe and correct way the technology and the way to live with she.

Students know the technology but in many cases they do not know how to use it

But our idea is not just to stay in orientation talks, where we know that the level of recruitment or retention of students is not usually what we expect and therefore our goal can be diluted along the way. For this reason, we have proposed more specific modules for each topic and, above all, more «experiential», that is to say that the students, through real cases and situations that we present to them, may suffer the consequences of having a misuse of technology.

Last year, from the European College of Madrid, we already organized some “Wifi Security” workshops with the students of the ESO and Baccalaureate, in which I myself taught them (you can see the article here), the result was very good, as the level of awareness acquired with issues such as identity theft, password theft or insecurity in public networks was exceptional, even thanks to this the workshop was extended to offer to parents and teachers.

In this way based on this experience we believe that our modules this year should follow the same path, students know the technology, but in many cases do not know how to use them, therefore la idea is not to show it to you, but to experience it.

From the schools we implant and use every new school year novel digital and technological resources to improve the experience in the educational field of the classroom, but we know perfectly that these implementations carry an important point of responsibility that is translated in the quality and health of our students, that is why this type of initiatives that we have in this article must go hand in hand with the use of new technological resources in our centers.

Technology and new digital resources have come to schools to improve the classroom, and give the teacher a broader range of tools to bring knowledge to their students.

But the training, workshops or talks is only part of this responsibility, we must not neglect the technical aspect of this type of technological projects, a good Internet filter policy, a good Wi-Fi structure, antivirus, usage guidelines, etc. will help us more to maintain these 3.0 Classrooms
