Good to all I want to take this article to talk about a very important pillar when we integrate a digital project in a school. As a digital project, I do not only refer to working with devices in the classroom, but to the use of any technology adapted to our methodology, in the end opening that huge door in our school, called Internet.

Use technology to drive the methodology

The use of technology in the classroom is a great tool to promote our methodologies as a teacher, even being much more transversal among the subjects, but it implies a great responsibility that as a center and as a teacher we must assume before our students, and not only before them also before their families.

Although in our classrooms we are in the work of using the devices in an educational way, there is a "not so educational" part, or if you want to call it leisure, that our students use mostly outside of classrooms or even in their homes. This is a part that as teachers we should not ignore and we have to take care of.

We are in a stage where our students are great consumers of technology, they know it but the vast majority do not know how to use it. We are in a stage that we do not know what will happen in a few years with so much data in our networks and we do not know it because we have never experienced such a situation.

Our students live in the immediacy of their actions, whatever they do, whether good, bad, relevant or irrelevant in a few seconds this before the critical eyes of many people who only judge 20 seconds of image in any apparent context. We must educate our students in the so-called "Digital Health", they must learn to take care of their image in the network, they know how to maintain those values, that respect and even that shame that in many cases having a screen in front of you makes you lose it.

They should be aware that unlike gravity, what usually goes up in the cloud usually does not go back down. Photos in which we left with the uniform of the school, photos in our house, with our family, showing our habits or even photos that we would never allow someone to do it to us but that doing it alone seems different. They are data that can not be freely in the eyes of anyone.

We must help families know when they should allow, when they should mediate or even when they should prohibit its use. That parallel worlds are not created in which a Like may be worth more than a sincere I like it said to the eyes.

We must continue educating in values

Social networks have come to stay and we must enhance their positive points within schools as in homes. But in the end, although we have changed the focus, continuing to educate in values ​​will allow our students to chart the correct path to these new media.
